Firstlap · Terms of Service
A shared starting line.
Firstlap gives beginners and returning movers a place to record a first step, join a sport group, and encourage someone else. These Terms set the rules that keep that shared space useful and safe.
Effective: September 25, 2026 · Last updated: September 25, 2026
1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms are an agreement between you and the developer identified as the provider of Firstlap on its App Store product page (“Firstlap,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They apply to the Firstlap iOS App, its community service, and related support and moderation tools. Creating an account, selecting the agreement checkbox, or using the service means that you accept these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Guidelines.
You must be at least 13 years old. If local law requires a higher minimum age to use an online community without parental authorization, you must meet that age. You must also be legally able to enter this agreement. A parent or legal guardian who permits an eligible minor to use Firstlap is responsible for supervising that use to the extent allowed by law.
Do not use the service if you do not accept these Terms. Some legal rights cannot be waived; these Terms do not limit mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
2. Your account
Firstlap uses email verification and a password so your posts, groups, interactions, notifications, safety controls, and journey can follow your account. You agree to provide an email address you control, use accurate account information, keep your password and verification codes private, and promptly update information that becomes inaccurate.
You are responsible for activity through your account until you tell us it may be compromised. You may not sell, transfer, rent, or share access to an account; create accounts through automated means; impersonate another person or organization; evade a suspension; or reserve a misleading identity. We may require re-verification or revoke sessions when reasonably needed to protect the account or service.
If you forget your password, use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen. A successful reset revokes older sessions. Firstlap support will never ask for your password or email verification code.
3. The Firstlap service
Firstlap lets members create profiles; publish photo or text posts and “My First” milestones; keep supported journey items private; join sport groups; comment; applaud; send “With you” encouragement; save posts; follow members; receive activity notices; report content; block accounts; and manage their account and data. Available features may evolve as the community develops.
Content shown in feeds, groups, profiles, and notifications comes from members and may not be verified by Firstlap. A reaction, follower count, group membership, or featured item is a community signal, not an endorsement, qualification, achievement certification, or promise of safety.
We may maintain reasonable limits on upload size, storage, posting, requests, or feature access to protect reliability and keep the service within operational capacity. We may test, change, suspend, or discontinue a feature, but will provide notice when required by law.
4. Your content and the permission you give us
“Your Content” means profile details, photos, posts, milestone cards, captions, comments, replies, reports, appeals, and other material you submit. You retain ownership of Your Content.
You grant Firstlap a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, adapt for device display, transmit, and display Your Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the service and to show it according to the audience you select. This license includes making technical copies, resizing images, backing up data, and delivering public or group content to eligible members. It ends when Your Content is deleted from active systems, except for limited backup, legal, safety, and audit retention described in the Privacy Policy and copies made independently by other members.
You represent that you created Your Content or have all rights and permissions needed to post it, and that our use under this license will not violate another person’s copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights. Obtain permission before posting a recognizable person, private conversation, club material, event media, or location-sensitive image.
Choose visibility carefully. Community posts can be seen by signed-in members. Group posts follow the group access shown in the App. Private journey items are not published unless you choose to share them. Other members may take screenshots or share visible content outside Firstlap; we cannot control those copies.
5. Community rules
Firstlap is designed around encouragement, beginner confidence, and honest progress. You may disagree with an idea, but you may not target or degrade the person behind it. You must follow the in-app Community Guidelines and may not use Firstlap to:
- threaten, bully, harass, stalk, shame, or encourage harm toward a person or group;
- post hate speech, sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate material, graphic violence, or content that sexualizes a minor;
- promote dangerous challenges, self-harm, eating-disorder behavior, unsafe exercise, doping, or conduct likely to cause serious injury;
- expose another person’s private information, precise location, credentials, health information, or private messages without permission;
- impersonate someone, deceive members, manipulate engagement, coordinate abuse, or make fraudulent claims;
- post spam, repetitive promotion, unauthorized advertising, scams, malware, or links intended to steal information;
- infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights;
- buy, sell, solicit, or facilitate illegal goods, regulated substances, weapons, or unlawful services;
- scrape member data, use bots, reverse engineer protected portions of the service, bypass access controls, overload infrastructure, or probe for vulnerabilities without authorization; or
- use reports, appeals, comments, or support channels to harass others or interfere with moderation.
Do not encourage a member to ignore medical advice or conceal an injury. Content presented as personal experience must not be misrepresented as professional medical, coaching, or safety advice.
6. Reports, blocking, moderation, and appeals
You can report eligible content or a member from its menu, select a reason, and add context for the care desk. A report should identify the actual concern and should not include passwords, verification codes, or unrelated private information. Reporting does not automatically remove content or guarantee a particular outcome.
You can block a member without filing a report. Blocking is intended to hide the blocked relationship’s posts, comments, follows, and actor notifications from one another and remove existing follows. You can review and reverse blocks in Settings. Blocking does not prevent Firstlap from retaining or reviewing material required for safety, legal compliance, or an existing report.
Authorized moderators may review reported content and context; dismiss a report; reduce distribution; remove content; limit features; revoke sessions; or suspend or terminate an account. We consider the content, context, severity, history, risk of harm, and applicable rules. Serious risks may result in immediate action. Automated limits may prevent spam or unsafe upload behavior, while account and content decisions are recorded for review.
When the App marks a moderation decision as eligible, the affected member may submit one appeal with relevant context. A moderator may uphold or reverse the decision and may restore content or account access when appropriate. We may preserve evidence and audit records even when content is restored or an account is deleted. We may contact emergency services or authorities when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to address imminent serious harm or when law requires it.
7. Sport, health, and personal safety
Firstlap is a social community, not a medical, diagnostic, emergency, or professional coaching service. Member stories may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your body, equipment, conditions, or experience. Consult an appropriate medical or qualified professional before beginning or changing activity when needed, particularly if you have symptoms, an injury, a disability, are pregnant, take relevant medication, or have been advised to limit exercise.
Use suitable equipment, follow venue and road rules, assess weather and surroundings, and stop if you feel pain, faintness, breathing difficulty, or other concerning symptoms. Do not rely on Firstlap in an emergency; contact local emergency services.
If you meet another member or join an activity discussed through Firstlap, use your own judgment, meet in an appropriate public setting, tell someone you trust, and do not share sensitive contact or location details until you are comfortable. Firstlap does not screen members, supervise meetups, or guarantee another person’s identity, ability, conduct, or safety.
8. Email, notifications, and support
We may send transactional email required to verify an address, reset a password, protect an account, answer a support request, or provide a legally required notice. These messages are part of operating the account rather than marketing communications.
In-app and optional push notifications may tell you about comments, reactions, follows, group activity, safety decisions, or appeal results. You can review activity inside Firstlap and can disable remote push in iOS Settings. Disabling push does not remove notices that must remain available inside the App.
9. Firstlap rights and your app license
The Firstlap name, logo, interface, original illustrations, software, page design, and service materials are owned by or licensed to Firstlap and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer those rights to you.
While you comply with these Terms, Firstlap gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. You may not copy, rent, sell, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, or attempt to extract source code from protected parts of the App except where applicable law expressly permits it.
If you send ideas or feedback, you permit us to use them without restriction or payment, but you are not required to disclose confidential or proprietary information.
10. Deletion, suspension, and ending service
You may stop using Firstlap at any time. You can permanently delete your account from My journey → Settings → Delete account. Deletion revokes sessions and removes active account content and relationships as described in the Privacy Policy. It does not undo copies made outside Firstlap or obligations and rights that arose before deletion.
We may limit or suspend access when reasonably necessary to investigate a report, protect people or infrastructure, comply with law, respond to a security event, or enforce these Terms. We may terminate an account for serious or repeated violations, evasion of enforcement, unlawful conduct, or material risk to the community. Where appropriate, the App provides notice and an appeal path.
Sections that by their nature should continue after account closure remain effective, including ownership, content responsibility, limited retained licenses for lawful backups and evidence, disclaimers, liability limits, dispute terms, and amounts or obligations already due.
11. Availability, warranty, and liability
We work to keep Firstlap available and useful, but member content, internet delivery, email, push notifications, and software can be delayed, interrupted, inaccurate, or unavailable. The service is provided with the warranties required by applicable law and otherwise without promises that every feature will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular training goal.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Firstlap is not responsible for losses caused by member content, independent meetups, unsafe exercise choices, unauthorized third-party conduct, events outside reasonable control, or your failure to protect account credentials. Firstlap’s liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Firstlap for the service during the 12 months before the claim or USD 100, unless local law requires a different remedy. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability arising from fraud, willful misconduct, or personal injury where exclusion is prohibited.
You are responsible for claims and reasonable costs caused by your unlawful content, infringement of another person’s rights, or intentional misuse of the service, to the extent permitted by law. We will provide reasonable notice of a covered claim and allow you to participate in its defense.
12. Terms relating to Apple
These Terms are between you and Firstlap, not Apple. Firstlap, rather than Apple, is responsible for the App, its content, maintenance, support, and any warranties not disclaimed above. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for Firstlap.
If the App fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any, as provided by Apple’s rules. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Firstlap is responsible for addressing claims concerning the App, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and consumer-protection claims. Firstlap is also responsible for investigating and resolving a claim that the App infringes a third party’s intellectual-property rights.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism and are not listed on a U.S. government prohibited or restricted parties list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the App-license provisions against you after you accept them.
13. Changes, disputes, and contact
We may update these Terms as the service, community rules, or law changes. We will update the date above and provide notice of a material change through the App or another available channel when required. Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms means you accept them; if you do not accept a material revision, you may delete your account.
Before starting a formal dispute, please email us with the account email, a concise description, and the result you seek so we can try to resolve it. These Terms are governed by the law applicable to the provider shown on the App Store product page, excluding conflict-of-law rules, while preserving mandatory consumer protections and courts available to you under local law. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or using a consumer-protection or data-protection authority where applicable.
